THIS MAY TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO READ BUT IT'S WORTH IT
So I've been thinking of all the open world games such as GTA and Red Dead Redemption but how interesting would it be to combine those characteristics of a free roam to a series like Left 4 Dead. Basically i'm thinking of a game that allows players to roam the entire landscape with limitless and endless possibilities while still facing the threat of the walking dead.
This game would mostly be a multiplayer game in which a group of 4 players will start out in a location of their choice such as the Hospital or Police station, etc. Now the maximum players in an entire game session should be anywhere from 50-100 that way the game can be more realistic. However, in order for the survivors (players) of the epidemic to communicate they must be in earshot of each other. But like in most zombie scenarios there will be radios so players may use those to communicate. The main goal for the survivors is to set up a "fort" in any building of their choice. They players will use whatever scrap they find to put together a system of defense while still trying to escape the city or wherever they are.
Once the survivors make it to a "Pick Up Zone" they will then have to wait for rescue to arrive however they must let the rescuers know they are there via smoke, lights, signs..The rescuers will be preselected players that will be spawned at a remote location who will then have to travel to the "Infected Zone" to retrieve the survivors via Air, Land, or Water using vehicles that are given to them. However survivors may kill the rescuers and take their vehicle. Now you may ask what happens if a person is wounded so bad that they are starting to turn. Well there are many options. 1. The group they are with can kill them thus ending their life as a living being only to re spawn a zombie at a different location. 2. The group may cast the infected being out of their fortress while the change is occurring. or 3. They dont give a damn and they let them live only to die and come back near them.
The players who are infected will have two speeds.... a medium to fast walk and then a sprint. however the sprint may only be used when a living being is in eyesight. These are just some ideas but i have plenty more.What are yalls thoughts on this new game suggestion?
