Gears of War 3 had a sad story. I would buy it for the story mode.

Any Gears of War as long it is NOT Judgement, worst Gears i have ever played without a doubt, hardly any gamemodes or maps.

I would honestly stick to 3.
Good story mode but you wouldn't know what was going on if you didn't play the other ones. Plus my favorite multiplayer one.

Either 2 or 3. whatever you do, don't but judgement. PLEASE

A lot of the poeple that posted never played the first one. They all started out with either GoW 2 or 3. If I were you I would start out with Gears of War 1. This game has a very high learning curve so in my opinion, GoW1 was the best and would be the best because like I said, its the FIRST one that came out. And its the best one.

I'd get Gears of War 1 first and follow the order. The story is really good and you'll want to start it from the beginning.
