Perks

(All Pro Abilities will be added and edited when we find out more)

Tier One Perks:
(All Tier One Perks effect the appearance of your character)

Lightweight | Lightweight Pro
Ability: This allows you to move faster, but how fast depends on the weapons mobility.
Pro Ability: This gives you the chance to aim faster after sprinting.
(2,000*)

Scavenger | Scavenger Pro
Ability: Resupply from dead players. This is great for weapons and launchers that run out of ammo quickly.
Pro Ability: Doubles your ammo with extra magazines.
(2,000*)

Ghost | Ghost Pro
Ability: Ghost is similar to the Cold Blooded perk from Modern Warfare 2. Enemy AI controlled killstreak rewards are unable to see or attack you. You only show up on the radar if you fire a weapon that doesn't have a silencer.
Pro Ability: The enemy won't see your name or a red crosshair when targeting you.
(2,000*)

Flak Jacket | Flak Jacket Pro
Ability: This perk reduces explosive damage and allows you to survive nearly any indirect explosive attack. The Flak Jacket was first featured in Call of Duty: World at War.
Pro Ability: Unknown.
(2,000*)

Hardline | Hardline Pro
Ability: Killstreaks require 1 less kill. For example, the RC-XD normally requires 3 kills, but with Hardline you only need 2 kills.
Pro Ability: Unknown.
(2,000*)

Tier Two Perks:

Hardened | Hardened Pro
Ability: This gives your weapon increased bullet penetration. Works just like the FMJ attachment from Modern Warfare 2.
Pro Ability: Unknown.

Scout | Scout Pro
Ability: Increases the time you can steady a weapons scope. This is very useful with sniper rifles.
Pro Ability: Unknown.

Steady Aim | Steady Aim Pro
Ability: Significantly increases hip fire accuracy. This should be used with the Dual Wield attachment, since Dual Wield prevents you from aiming down on the sights.
Pro Ability: Unknown

Sleight of Hand | Sleight of Hand Pro
Ability: Cuts the weapon reload time in half. This should be familiar to Call of Duty veterans. Useful with light machine guns since they have long reload times.
Pro Ability: Allows you to aim faster. This halves the time it takes to aim down the sight.

Warload | Warlord Pro
Ability: Bling returns from Modern Warfare 2 with a new name. This allows you to equip 2 attachments to your primary weapon.
Pro Ability: Allows you to equip 2 attachments to your primary and secondary weapon.

Tier Three Perks:

Marathon | Marathon Pro
Ability: Extends your sprint time. Marathon does not increase sprint speed or give you unlimited sprint.
Pro Ability: Unknown.

Ninja | Ninja Pro
Ability: Makes your footsteps silent, thus giving you a powerful stealth advantage.
Pro Ability: Unknown.

Second Chance | Second Chance Pro
Ability: Allows you to survive a normal death. You will drop to the ground and pull out your handgun. Second Chance ends after 10 seconds or if you take a single hit from the enemy, and in both cases you will die.
Pro Ability: You can use your equiptment as well as your handgun.

Hacker | Hacker Pro
Ability: This works like SitRep from Modern Warfare 2. Hacker allows you to detect enemy explosives and equipment like Tactical Insertions, Camera Spikes, Jammers, etc.
This highlights them with a red color.
Pro Ability: Allows you to booby trap enemy Care Packages and turn enemy killstreaks and equipment friendly. For example Sentry Guns, Claymores, SAM Turrets, etc.

Tactical Mask | Tactical Mask Pro
Ability: Significantly reduces the effects of flashbands and concussion grenades.
Pro Ability: Unknown.

You can completely ignore Pro Perks. Not only do you have to do the Challenge Set you also have to pay for it. No want? No buy.
Yes, NO STOPPING POWER or JUGGERNAUT.

Create-a-Class 2.0

Prestige

From Vaugh's (Treyarch Dev) Twitter:
"Is it really confirmed that there will only be 5 prestige levels? Not even remotely true."
"Hint: It is not 10"

~Prestige in 21-22hrs

Playercards

-Playercards will replace callsigns and titles.
-They will be customizable and can be colored multiple colors, the emblems will be resizable and stackable
-The emblems will still have to be unlocked.

Killstreaks

(money amount within the parentheses)

Spy Plane (3 Kills): No need to explain this one, this featured in World at War and it's basically the same as a UAV recon plane (Default).

RC Car (3 Kills): A new addition to Black Ops. Players control a small buggy on the screen, giving you the chance to drive it into enemies and detonate when desired (1,200).

Counter Spy Plane (4 Kills): Counter-UAV (1,600).

SAM Turret (4 Kills): Used to take out enemy aircraft (1,600).

Care Package (5 Kills): Could contain some if not all killstreaks in this list. It has also been confirmed that care packages will contain special beefed-up weapons to use for a short period of time. I also read that the Care Package is brought in on a slow moving chinook, so its possible to shoot it down due to its low altitude and slower speed (Default).

Napalm Strike (5 Kills): Standard airstrike, cooler name, in my opinion (2,400).

Sentry Gun (6 Kills): The trusty old sentry gun. Will never let you down - unless it gets knifed in the back of course (3,200).

Mortar Team (6 Kills): This killstreak is showed in a few videos where you place three areas on your map to be bombed, like a airstrike (3,200).

Attack Helicopter (7 Kills): Your bog standard support chopper (Default).

Valkyrie Rockets (7 Kills): Another new addition to Black Ops. The Valkyrie Rockets will launch a collection of rockets, to which players get to control when each rocket detonates. Sounds fun this one (4,000).

Blackbird (8 Kills): Like the Spy plane it reveals the location but also reveals the direction that the player is traveling. The blackbird can not be shot down.(4,500).

Rolling Thunder (8 Kills): Taken from 'Operation Rolling Thunder', this is likely to be the most damaging airstrike in the game, dealing out some serious damage in the process. Hopefully it will have stealth features too (4,500).

Chopper Gunner (9 Kills): Hutch said the Chopper Gunner is not like it is on Multiplayer for MW2, it is you using the Mini-Gun on the side of the Chopper Gunner, just like in some of the Spec Ops levels (5,000).

Attack Dogs (11 Kills): A hit from World at War, it will be interesting to see how the attack dogs mix up gameplay. Perfect for dealing with campers anyway (6,000).

Gunship (11 Kills): No specific details from Treyarch on this yet, but we know it will be a ship that players will be able to control. Must be pretty badass if it's the last killstreak on the list (6,000).

Maps

Summit: A snowy, Russian Base.
Launch: Tight, close quarters map set on a missile platform, as seen in the teaser trailer.
Radiation: An abandoned power station.
Slaughter House: Decimated urban area in Vietnam. (Real Name MAY be Hanoi, thus 15 listed)
Cracked: A secluded town in shambles.
Jungle: Click Here for Video
Havana: City Map Z road style (Sounds like Crossfire from CoD4)
Array: Large Snow Map. Centered around Large Satellite Dish. Video
WMD:
Villa
Nuke Town
Hanoi
Firing Range
Grid
Crisis
14 Total Maps at Launch

Zombie Mode

Yes, there will be a Black Ops Zombie Mode.

Treyarch's community manager said via Twitter, "All 4 existing CoDWaW Zombie maps will be included in Hardened & Prestige editions of CoDBO as callback co-op levels!"

Treyarchs community manager has not only officially confirmed that the old zombie maps are coming to Black Ops, but also officially confirmed that there will be some sort of Black Ops Zombie Mode although you can be sure Treyarch have a twist(s) in store for us.

Server Set-Up

Consoles still match making system

Dedicated Servers for the PC with a match making system also built in. You can either choose a game type and the Matchmaking system will choose a ranked server for you or you can use a server browser to choose a ranked/unranked server manually.

Steam and VAC back for PC gamers. Ranking is server side apparently, not stored client-side. Gameservers.com (only) to host the servers. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Here is a FAQ post on the Official CoD forums. For all you PC guys this is good information (IMO). [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Again this is PC only information, if you play on a console it will not pertain to you.

Gore

Hi all,

Wanted to clear up the "No Gore in MP" forum fiasco, as I'm seeing a lot of discussion. This was a technical trade-off the designers made consciously at the studio. There is only so much memory available on consoles - I'm talking system memory (RAM), not disc space - so the "Blu-ray discs hold more" argument doesn't count .

With that memory, we have to fit everything you can load out with in a given match into what memory is available on both consoles. With custom reticles, lenses, clan tags, emblems, and having way more cammos (gun & face) than ever before, we needed the extra memory to fit those awesome new additions. At the end of the day, gore doesn't make or break a game. We believe that ultimately, the vast majority of players would rather have all these cool new additions, at the expense of limbs flying off in MP, so that's why we don't have "gore" in competitive multiplayer.

Yes, there's still blood. Yes, there's still blood splatter effects - it's still a Mature themed game. But if you get shot point-blank with a shotgun, no body parts will fly off this time (in Multiplayer).

Regards,
-JD

Leader Boards

"Lobby leaderboard and game mode specific leader boards return.

Leaderboards are now sorted on Score per minute averages (which will reward objective mode players better for taking objectives and not just getting kills).

Game mode objective show Score per minute followed by key game mode stats. For example, in Search and Destroy it's Plants, Defuse, and Defends.

We also have weekly, monthly, and all time variants each with a minimum game played (5, 25, and 50, respective) requirements to be listed on the board.

It's our most aggressive leaderboard effort to date."
