Alright, so I think I sprained my left wrist yesterday evening, but I can't confirm this since walk-in clinics are closed right now, and waiting in the hospital will take up the rest of my day. Anyways, I need to type up an 8 or so page essay today (double spaced). I can still type of course, but would it be smart to type that much with a strained wrist? I have searched this up on Google, and apparently, you're supposed to rest the wrist, but would typing really affect the recovery of the wrist?

Thanks, but without a doctor's note, what if my teacher doesn't believe me?

I would not type while having a sprained wrist. If you get a doctors note or something of the sort you should be able to get out of it. If it is for school it should be excused. I would rest it. Use the other hand no matter what

If they don't believe you, then show them the wrist. If it is sprained, there will be some swelling. In the meantime, you could begin your essay, but only use the good hand.

Yes , because typing would inflict more damage on the sprained wrist.

It may be significantly slower but just start typing with your other hand and then tell your teacher it was sprained but you tried and that you'll finish it off soon. I'm sure they will believe you buddy,
Get some deep heat spray on it always helps me when i get sprains and numbs the pain aswell

It would depend on what kind of pain you are in and how you injured your wrist. The main concern to you typing would be swelling. If you are going to type I would rest it a while before hand.
Ice your wrist
Keep it elelvated to keep down the swelling
Apply some sort of compression bandage (not too tight that it cuts off the blood supply)
Good luck
