It's quite simple really I believe they announced the UK price with tax applied and I believe they announced the US price without tax applied.

I hope this can clear this up for some people who are questioning this.

EDIT: I got this info from the guys over at Xbox Support on Twitter.

Title is a bit misleading...

But it's because of the value of the American dollar vs the British pound.

so if the british is taxed then without vat its 320 plus tax should make it 384 not 424 ? your arguement is unsupported lol the tax rate is 20 % in the uk btw

The US price without tax applied (I believe) equals around 320 GBP.

Microsoft is capitalising on the "Rip Off Britian" like everyone else does. And like everything else we will still buy their products. This will never change.

Think I might speak to my boss and see if I can get one through the company, that way I wont have to pay the VAT.
