I've heard that halo 3 is going to come out for free July 1st. Do you think people are going to start playing it again? Is it going to include all of the map packs?

No, it isn't going to include all the map packs, just the game is going to be free.

*OP - You'll be able to play the Campaign, Matchmaking, Forge, and Custom Games.
In Matchmaking you will need to have all the map packs in order to play all the Playlists but without them, you can play Social Slayer and Team Slayer. I'm not sure if there's any other playlists you can play. The Map Packs are pretty cheap, you'll only need about 10-15 bucks for all of them.
