I have played many sports like basketball, baseball, swimming, lacrosse, and currently I am playing water polo. I have to say I think water polo is the hardest as you have to tread water for the whole game, opponents pulling and doing stuff to you underwater. It is physically and mentally challenging. This is MY opinion. What do you guys think?

None of those. To me water polo seems very hard. You get drowned when you have the ball.

Golf, they say you can mess up to 60 or 70 ways in a single golf swing.

Ice Hockey is the toughest no doubt.

The hardest would probably be either tennis or like the user above said, golf.

Top three toughest: Rugby, Football, Hockey
They have the most physical contact (hit wise) generally and are dangerous sports to play. Injuries are very common, serious brain and body damage are also apart of the sports but are far more uncommon.

you seem to have forgotten the most obvious answer, MMA, Mixed Martial Arts is the most physically and mentally challenging sport, If you mess up you get a broken limb or knocked the F out!
