That doesn't wipe the data, it just marks it for re-allocation.

OP, either disrupt the HDD's magnetic functionality with.. a magnet, or shred the data via a remote OS.

If you have a Windows or GNU/Linux install disk, you can boot to it and format the drives you have connected. If security is an issue, you may want to use [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . The info you need to use this program is all on the site.
