Either buy it for $5.97 or be active and helpful around the forums. If someone thinks you're doing a good job they may gift you gold.

To be gifted someone must pay for you to get gold. You can achieve this by staying active, making friends, and helping out the community as much as possible. You have to prove your worth. It's a pretty big honor!
