Hi I finished building my computer yesterday and I wanted to test its performance.. I went onto Arma 2 and just changed all of the settings to very high and the computer ran very well without any lag at all.
Today i decided to play around with GTA4 and install some mods. I've only installed one up to now..
I noticed immediately when playing that the graphics were terrible and i cant change them because there is a message at the bottom saying
WARNING : "Warning: Your graphics settings are near,or exceed, the suggested resource limits for your system.
It is recommend that you reduce your graphic settings in order to run the game optimally"
I don't know what to do can anyone suggest something.
If it means anything I haven't entered the BIOS yet everything is set to the setting they have been since yesterday, which i myself did not set..
Oh and I have downloaded the drivers from the websites for the MOBO AND GPU.
Build:
CPU - AMD FX8320
GPU - Sapphire readon 7950 vapour-X
RAM - 8GB
MOBO - Asrock 970 extreme 4
HDD - 1TB
a little of topic question - the fans are quite load when doing very little with the computer, how can I reduce this?
Thanks

GTAIV is a badly optimised port from console to PC so regardless of specs i probably won't run well anyway. To override the graphics exceeded recommended settings message go into the GTA folder, find LaunchGTAIV.exe, create a copy on the desktop and at the end of the shortcut path add "-norestrictions" and it won't show that message anymore.
As for fan speeds, does your mobo support changing the speeds in the OS or BIOS?

Thanks Ill do that, but then again the graphics are not too bad ill have a mess around.
As for the fans yes they can definitely be changed, i had a look earlier and everything is on "full on". There are settings like automatic and custom where you can select it yourself.. what would you recommend i do..
its not too loud at resting level but its noticeable.
im not too sure whats quiet or whats loud but it is certain that its loud when playing games...
its the case fans them self appear to be making most of the noise. there's 5 in total.. then there's 2 on the GPU and then there's the single CPU stock fan
8 in total.

Download HWMonitor then find the right balance between what temps you want and the noise you can put up with. Aslong as temps are under the suggested then you're fine and dandy.

Yeah i've even read some people getting them up past 80 without throttling but apparently it degrades the chip faster.
