Look, Before you rant on about the Watergate Hotel.

Nixon did quite a good job of getting troops out of Vietnam, its just a shame that he had to spy on the opposition and get caught.
Its not the spying which is bad because everyone does it, its the fact that he got caught that everyone remembers him for. I bet Obama spies on his competition when coming up to election time as well, but he doesnt get caught.
Anyways what do you think of Nixon?
Also, is it just me or when you think of Nixon, this comes to mind.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mr. Nixon eradicated the gold that backed American Currency leaving the value to be made up? Or was that someone else?

Nixon is argued over his policies in Vietnam as either a diplomatic genius or a mad bomber, as his policies managed to get the U.S. out of the war, but with a hefty price to match. Plus He is the first U.S. president to lose a war (Yes U.S. you lost!) but the Vietnamese never stuck to their half of the deal.

Nixon is by far my favorite president. It always angers me when people say he was the worst president ever. Yes he has the watergate scandal but no one ever talks about his policies on enviroment like EPA or his detente policies between Soviet Russia like S.A.L.T. Sure watergate makes him look bad but it does not make him the worst president.

I have heard arguments about Nixon being the worst, but to be completely honest with you. He was better than Lyndon Johnson.
If you have no idea who Lyndon Johnson is, he is the president AFTER JFK but before Nixon. Or there is this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
He was clueless about the Vietnam War, and I think the war was a loss for the U.S. because of LBJ. He was only listening to secretary of defense Robert McNamara and Dean Rusk, who know the current situation in Vietnam as being the only two in the White house who was there during Kennedy's presidency. LBJ was seen as aggressive in 1964 but this all changed in the Tet Offensive in 1968 where the P.A.V.N. (Viet Minh) and the V.C. (Viet Cong) Launched a full scale offensive on Siagon (South Vietnam Capital) during the festival of the Tet to catch the U.S. and the A.R.V.N. (South Vietnamese Army) off guard. This took a few weeks the battle lasted, with hefty losses on both sides and this also drained LBJ's confidence in Vietnam.
So long story short, Nixon knew what he was doing in 'nam. LBJ didn't. He was a better president than LBJ anyway.
(Lucky for you I had an exam on the Vietnam War this year, so I know all about this.)
Oh one more thing: Google some of his quotes, some are quite funny.
