No the ones sold in america are leagal, But the ones imported from overseas arent. I think it is since they are RHD(Right hand drive) instead of Left Hand Drive.

Don't like the style of the new GT-R's. I would rather buy a R32 Skyline and hold on to it until they become legal in the united states. I am gonna end up with a FD Mazda RX7 hopefully if i can find one for sale where i live. I am in love with rotary cars

onebaddeck wroteNah r32s and 34s are both illegal because of the US emissions law and something to do with a crash test. You're not supposed to be able to dent if going 5mph or under and i guess it does? Rhd has nothing to do with it surprisinglyHacker-lnside wrote I thought Skylines are illegal in north America?

Nope they are not allowed because of DOT laws and regulations. They don't pass the crash test or emission standards and the front and rear bumpers arent reinforced enough for US DOT standards

I know a couple of older guys who have one, they leave it as their show car, they drove it in the 4th of july parade in my city, same color and everything. I'm waiting for an 04' Skyline GTR to pop up.

Colors wroteAves wroteColors wrote Yea pretty nice my neighbor has one but my car smokes his on the street and most likely in drag.
But like a said in another car thread a couple weeks ago once i'm an attending i will go for a lambo or porsche. The gtr is sexy but personally would rather have a porsche panamera
Your car can smoke a GT-R? What is it?
In the street yea.
I have a srt8 challenger with a supercharger
I raced him before to work since we work in the same place my car has a way better launch. But in the long run he may pass me (85%)
But i hit 220 on a track with my car
What's your 1/4 mile time. I doubt you even came close to beating that GT-R, the GT-R comes with the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 540 hp plus with the AWD system there is no way your srt8 challenger with 550 hp will beat the GT-R.
