Rep isn't a social status, it's showing how useful you are.

You shouldn't care about how high your Rep is, if you post useful things, you'll get rep.

I've never had issues with not being +Rep'd.

That's pretty weak, you should be answering all questions as best you can not just because you get something "extra" out of it.I think +rep is pointless, it has no value and is just another number next to your name, you won't get any extra respect for having more rep.

Just because I don't help them to my full capabilities doesn't mean I don't answer their question correctly.

I partially understand where you are coming from. Except for what you said below.
z_TyRoN_x wrote Just because you don't, doesn't mean anybody else does.

I put extra effort into my answers when people are offering +rep.

All these people that are commenting aren't even reading what I put.

If anyone has seen me in the PC Section I offer the best help I can whether there is rep involved or not, it's all the same to me.
But it's when they put "+Rep" in the title which of course is a nice gesture of showing your appreciation but in this case it's just to grab attention. The helper then spares time out of their day to help the fellow member then to be ungrateful and not reward the helper with the promised rep points or at least a thank you as a response is irritating.

Not awarding the member with rep after promising so, is ungrateful not forgetting that they're a liar and never deserved the help in the first place, it's not the rep, but the user him/her-self. I hope I got my point across without sounding like a rep ho.

if they are going to put +Rep they are obligated to give the rep. if they don't it is either they lied and are mean people, or you are they 20th person to give the exact same reply.
