This is a complete guide to the Black Ops 2 Ranking System. Enjoy!

When it comes to the ranking system their are 3 components of the ranking system which are K/D Ratio, Tally Marks and the Deranking System. Understanding those will help you understand the System.

Tally Mark System Explained.
The tally mark system is actually quite simple.
It is actually a time process, here is the chart that shows the time (accurate) :

1 Tally Mark - Average 1-2 days played in a week, or beginning of a new rank
2 Tally Marks - Constant of 2-3 days played in a week
3 Tally Marks - Constant of 3-4 days played in a week
4 Tally Marks - Constant of 4-5 days played in a week
5 Tally Marks - Constant of 6-7 days played in a week (Blue eyes for skull ranks)

It basically just shows you how often that person plays.
This also probably shows you how much time they actually play, and can give a guess on how good they are at Zombies, and that's all that really comes down to the Tally Mark System.

K/D Ratio System Explained.
This system is more complicated to understand. This is pretty much for your overall performance.
Here is a chart for the K/D ratio required to move on to the next rank/ with the 5 tally marks needed as well.

Use the picture for the Black Ops 2 Zombies Emblems to find your rank
Rank 1 to 2 - You would need a KDR of at least 10.00(maintain), with the 5 tally marks
Rank 2 to 3 - You would need a KDR of at least 25.00(maintain), with the 5 tally marks
Rank 3 to 5 - You would need a KDR of at least 53.65(maintain), with the 5 tally marks
Rank 5 to 7 - You would need a KDR of at least 72.50(maintain), with the 5 tally marks

Which means you pretty much need to get more kills, and less downs!
If you get 500 kills, and 11 downs you won't be helping yourself.
If you get 500 kills, and 3 downs you will be going up in ratio.

Deranking System Explained.
This is probably the system that we all dread and hate the most.
Let me explain it for you, since both Tally Marks, and K/D Ratio matter.
If you consistently do bad in zombies, you can go down in your rank, but not in tally marks.
If you play more and lets say you have a bad day, and you go down a lot. It won't hurt you as much as someone who doesn't play that much.

Let me explain so it doesn't sound confusing.
When you play more (4-5 tally marks) you get a less chance of getting deranked, because you play more than someone who doesn't play that much (1-3 tally marks).
Tally marks just pretty much decrease your chance of getting deranked in this system.

With K/D ratio, if you are doing bad for couple days and you're getting a low ratio, and lets say you have 5 tally marks, and you do bad another day, to where you do get deranked.
When you get deranked you stick with your tally marks, making or not making it easier for you to rank back up again.
For example, if you get deranked from 5 to 3 and you had 5 tally marks, it will make it easier for you to rank up again, but you will start at 1 tally mark when you do rank up.
And lets say you get deranked from 5 to 3 and you had 2 tally marks, it will now be even harder for you to rank up because now you've got to get some game time in as well as K/D ratio.
That's pretty much to it for the deranking system.

Hope this helped alot of people, PLEASE! if you have any questions please comment below and I will answer them.

Ok for a start tally marks are consecutive days played not average days per week. Secondly there are only 5 ranks not 7. One bone, two bones, skull, skull with knife and skull with shotguns. Lastly as tally marks have nothing to do with your rank, the deranking thing is wrong as well.

if you look at the picture i counted extra ranks for the blue eyes for knife and shotguns, I did that to explain the K/D better, I will fix the average to consecutive, that was my bad, if you look at "tally marks explain" at the end you will see that it doesn't have to do with your rank, just your derank. Most of the info for deranking is right. Tell me what is wrong in the deranking and I will fix it, if it is right.

What picture? Doesn't change the fact that there is only 5 ranks anyway.

i know, ur right there is 5 ranks, the picture is in the bo2 zombies emblems, this was an educated theory, I am certain with everything except for the deranking system, that is where it might be wrong...
