Hello everyone,
So I'm purchasing a flashed xbox online, after discussing with him I learned that it had been banned in the first "flashed xbox ban wave" and the current owner had no idea what version of iXtreme was on it.
I asked for some game references that he had played on it and he said CoD:WaW and L4D which I then looked up on abgx and are said to be wave 2.
After reading up on the difference in "waves" and the different firmwares I'm still a bit confused. If this drive is flashed with something that can at least handle wave 2's would I be able to download some of the newer games like NHL 11 and play it?
Or would I need to download & use a "wave patcher" to get newer games to play?
Or would I need to use an "activation disc," and I'm still not exactly sure what that is.
I apologize if these seem like newbie-ish questions, I attempted to read as much as possible but I figured posting couldn't hurt. So please be gentle
Thanks in advance!

For the question on if you can play newer games, YES and if your system is banned you can just use a wave patcher and then burn it, you dont really need the games stealth patched if your only going to play them offline on your banned system

Buy at your own risk. The november update for the xbox is supposed to stop Flashed Xbox's.

Awesome thanks. Yea the system is banned, I just wanted to make sure I could wave patch down so the games were playable.

I appreciate your response but as I stated in the OP, the xbox I purchased is already banned. I have a stock xbox for live.
Thanks to both of you!
