my gf's dads computer has a virus, i dont know how bad, but i was wondering if i could put a few virus protections on the usb and malware protections and plug it into his computer and start scanning? if so what anti-virus software should i use? please post i wanna gain their trust

Well probably if they are free softwares that don't have license's attached to them, but you could download avg free on her comp if that doesnt work

Use a free anti virus like Malwarebytes I think it is. Put the installer inside the USB, boot the infected computer in safe mode without network connections, then run the scan.

I don't know the severity of the virus but a virus scan may not fix your problem.

Yeah no prob. I forgot to say install the anti virus but I'm sure you already knew that.
I usually don't ask this but rep if me if you can I'd surely appreciate it and can help you with any other problems you may have with fixing your girlfriends' dad's computer just PM me.

Theres nothing wrong with AVG.

Had norton and mcafee got a virus.
Used AVG no Viruses.
Nuff said.
