cookes wroteListen, I'm not saying that the difference in performance is minimal, but for the $100 price difference, most people may want a great, mid range card that will give them what they want. Of course, the 7970 is the better card, but for the price you can get it for right now, why not spend a little bit more for a little bit more power from the 770?
maybe you should check the differences again between the two cards !! Its defiantly not 'minimal' !! And your link reinforces that fact.. Plus you can get that card cheaper than that.. heck you could get a Hd radeon 7970 Ghz edition cheaper.. The point is.. if you had a choice between the two cards ! Why would you chose the 760 ?
and the 770 is more expensive again.. and only just outperforms the HD radeon 7970.. but thats on new drivers, AMD need to optimise the card more. Not including the 7970's amazing Over clocking potential.
Also, the 7970 is a year and a half old. The 770 only just came out. "In my opinion" there is only so much more they can squeeze out of the 7970, where as the 770 is only just beginning.
In short, the 7970 is definitely the better card, being upped one by the 770 and so on. The 760 is currently the best bang for your buck, which is why it is getting recommended so much right now.

XFX 7770 Double Dissipation Ghz Edition.
Paired with a FX 6300, runs battlefield and Bioshock infinite at 1080p with like high/ultra hybrid settings.
I like it, great value for the price.
