I'm curious... I'm wondering wether or not HotSwapping can be done with a downloaded game?
Take for instance Dead Island which i wish to mod. How can i get that on the PC to mod? would it still work?
I'm completely confused.
Could i just copy the game to a USB get in on the PC and do something with it or is it in a different format than if you installed the game?
Thanks... sorry if that never made any sense

Yeah... thought not. Sorry i've been watching too many videos going from one topic to another.
Basically i want to create a Modded version of Dead Island. but the problem is the game is downloaded not on Disc. So if i move the game to a USB could i then mod it the same way if i used a disc or are downloaded items in a different format than discs?

There's no current way I believe. But I've heard some people could do it with a USB.

Nab wrotevQuadZv wrote I remember something about hotswapping with a USB. It was called "Coldswapping". Does that still work?
no, ive never heard of coldswapping and i dont think a usb would ever work
the only way without flashing is hotswapping (which is pretty easy)
Well back then you could install a game to a USB(If it was big enough) and put it into your computer. Replace the files with the modded ones
