Can some members let me know what are the advantages and disadvantages of Jailbreaking an iPhone 4?

Is it better/easier to use, more fun, etc. I really don't see why you need to jailbreak it, so can someone explain?

i cant specify much because there is so many awesome things you could do with it but heres the basic thing
Pros for jailbreaking
-Free apps
-cool themes
-awesome customization tools
-way more you can do than with a normal iphone 4
-game hacks
Cons for jailbreaking
-will run a bit slower
-voids the warranty
-can`t update `till new jailbreak comes out
-thats all i could think of

overall jailbreaking is great and i`d do it but i can`t right now because im on iOS 7

The only reason I can see for jailbreaking is for the apps...which you can get from Emu4ios (google it) without jailbreaking, enjoy.

BTW if you do do this, deleting Any app from Emu4ios will delete any roms or saves you have on GBA4ios.

This may have already been posted but I didn't read the previous replies..

I Jailbroken my iPhone 3GS and there was very minimal benefits as it effects the whole performance of your device. It slows it down and can cause all little bugs.

However there is some benefits such as apps like 'iappcracker' i think it's called.. This enables you to hack games and purchase things like gems and coins for free where other people could be spending around 10\$10+ for. there is many other apps too but i wouldn't recommenced Jailbreaking a device such as an iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and the latest iPod.

I personally don't think it's worth the hassle but it's up to you just here to give some advice.

I disagree with the poster above, Jailbreaking on an older device is worth it imo, it's pretty useless after support for it ends (Normally after the newest one comes out) so any iphone or ipod upto and including the 4 are jailbreak-worthy imo. Jailbreaking allows you to pretty much customise it how you want it. You want a folder in a folder? Done. You want the icons to be circular instead of square? Done. The customisation options are limitless, and themn you have all the free stuff. Performance is not affected a huge amount, but it is sometimes noticable if you run an app which is a lot more demanding.

Honestly, there are to many advantages to list. I'm sure you know most of them but the only disadvantages I can think of are your device may slow down a little if you're running an old(ish) model or you overload it with packages, voids the warranty while it's jailbroken (nothing a quick restore can't fix) and not being able to update unless you want to obviously.
