In this tutorial I will be showing you how to Jailbreak Wii version 4.3U, then downgrading to 4.1U for Wii Menu Themes(Optional).
IF YOU BRICK YOUR WII, IT IS NOT MY RESPONSABILITY.

There is a download pack in this tutorial that you WILL need to download, if you choose to downgrade. You can download it here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (Warning, file is 500MB+ so it may take a while):



Step 1: Check what version Wii Menu you have. If you do not know how, read the spoiler below
  • Turn on your Wii obviously.
  • Click the Wii button on the lower left hand side of your screen.
  • Click Wii Settings.
  • At the top right of the screen, it will say Ver 4.1,2 or 3.


Step 2: If you have version 4.3U follow the tutorial below!
  • Get a SD card. 4GB is perfect (especially if you are going to downgrade), but any size really will do.
  • Go to the following website: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
  • It will say to click your Wii type (U= United States, E= Europe, J=Japan K=Korea)
  • It will also say to enter in your MAC Address
. To do that, follow the spoiler below.
  • Click the Wii button on the lower left hand side of your screen.
  • Click Wii Settings.
  • Scroll over until you see the "Internet" option, and click it.
  • Click on Console Information
  • Your MAC address will be listed there.

  • Once you have entered your MAC address (MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECT OR ELSE IT WONT WORK!!) Click the "Bundle the HackMii Installer for me!" button.
  • Enter in the captcha, and click what "wire" you want to cut. (It doesn't matter, they are both the same.)
  • You will get a .zip file that looks like this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
  • Plug in your SD card NOW!
  • Copy the following things to the root of your SD card
    boot.elf
    "private" folder

  • Plug in your SD Card to your Wii
  • Go to your Messages/Letters which is on the bottom right of the screen.
  • Scroll backwards (or not, depends on timezone) until see something like this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
    You will get a Scam warning, just wait until that is gone, then press 1

  • You will get a screen like this, or something simalar:
  • Press A on your controller then using the D-Pad, scroll up to "Install the Homebrew Channel"
    • Click "Yes, Continue" and let it do it's thing.
    • Once it's done, click "Continue" to go back to the main menu.

  • Now Scroll down to the "BootMii" Option
    • You will have two choices. Either install as an iOS or Install
    • Just choose the one that fits to your Wii. (iOS or Install)
    • Keep Clicking continue until BootMii installs.
    • Once it's done, click "Continue" to go back to the main menu

  • Click "Return to main menu", then "Exit". Your Wii will boot into the Homebrew channel.
  • Press the "Home Button", then click Exit to System Menu to return to the Wii Menu and you will have the Homebrew Channel on your Menu.
  • Congratulations! You have Jailbroken your 4.3 Wii! I will make a tutorial later on how to play backed up games on 4.3

How to downgrade to 4.1 from 4.3 (Must be already softmodded and you do NEED WIFI) and use Wii Menu themes!

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY ONLINE ON 4.1!

  • First you will need to download a preassembled "hack pack" that I will provide you. (All credits for the hackpack go to MicrowaveSame (www.youtube.com/MicrowaveSam)
  • Once it is all downloaded, extract everything in the hack pack onto your SD card. It will take 10-15 minutes depending on your computer speed. And just click yes to overwrite everything.
  • Plug in your SD card to your Wii, and boot into the Homebrew Channel.
    THIS PART IS MANDATORY. DO NOT SKIP THIS, OR ELSE YOU WILL BRICK YOUR WII.
  • Click on the Multi-Mod-Manager app, which should be the first one.
  • Scroll down using the D-Pad to WAD Manager and click A.
  • There will be a long list of WAD's you need to install, so click "1" on your WiiMote. Then click A and let all the WAD's install.
    This will take a while, so go browse the internet, go do something to pass the time.
    Also make sure all of the WAD's install sucessfully. Don't worry, it will tell you when they installed okay.
  • Once all 63 WAD's have installed successfully, (it will say 63 WAD's installed successfully) press "B" (trigger) to get back all the way to the Main Menu in MMM
    YOU DO NEED WIFI OR WIRED NETWORK FOR THIS TO WORK. MMM HAS TO DOWNLOAD THE MENU FROM THE INTERNET.
  • Scroll down to "Manage System Menus" and click "A"
  • Using the D-Pad left or right, choose "System Menu 4.1" and choose your region.
    • DO NOT USE A REGION THAT IS NOT YOURS. AKA AN US WII INSTALLING A EUROPEAN SYSTEM MENU.
  • Press A and let it download and install System Menu 4.1
    This also takes a while, so go do something while this is happening.
  • Once 4.1 is installed, press B on your WiiMote until you get back to the MMM Main Menu
    THIS STEP IS FOR INSTALLING PRIILOADER. THIS IS OPTIONAL YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS BUT IT IS RECOMMENDED!

  • Scroll to "App Manager" and press A
  • Scroll down to priiloader and press A
  • Now you will get a Menu. Hold "B" and Press + at the same time
  • Now Press A. You will get some errors/warning while installing, just ignore them.
  • Priiloader will kick you back to the Homebrew Channel. Continue to Step 12 now.

  • Go to your Wii, and hold the power button until it turns RED. Not Orange, RED.
  • TAKE OUR YOUR SD CARD FROM THE WII NOW
  • Start the Wii back up with NO SD CARD IN IT
  • Go to the Wii Main Menu and put your SD card into your Wii

FOLLOW THIS IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED PRIILOADER
  • Hold your Reset Button on your Wii until you get to a white menu
  • Using your Wii Remote, scroll down to System Menu Hacks and Press A
  • Change your settings to mine, as they are the best: Disc Update Block: On, System Update Block: On, Region Free Everything: On
  • Save your settings and press B to go back to the Priiloader Menu
  • Scroll up to System Menu and press A. It will take you back to the Wii Menu
  • Launch the Homebrew Channel

  • Click on CiOSX Installer rev19. Read the Steps below on how to configure it.
    • Select iOS version to use during installation: iOS249
    • Select Base iOS Version: iOS37 v3869
    • Network installation
    • Press Any Button to restart

  • It will kick you to the Homebrew Channel
  • Launch MyMenuifyGUI
  • Scroll down using the side scroller to the Themes folder.
  • Click on the one you want, and then click yes.
  • Once done, click exit.
  • Press the Home Button, then Exit to System Menu
  • Your new theme should be applied!
