I have a liteon drive here that refuses to even detect that a disc is in the drive. So far I have swapped the laser, swapped with a new drive using old PCB and it still refuses to read. I'm starting to think that something is wrong with the PCB but I can't be certain.

Any suggestions?

dude just buy a new console, it sounds like you've tried the majority of options.

It should be fine the only thing I can think of is reflowing the board. Perhaps you have some cold joints that disrupt the reading process of the sata chip.

WHAT? YOU STUPID? liteon drive is the one that is flash-able... **** retard...

EDIT: On topic, you said you changed the drive am I correct? Each drive has its own "key" that is only compatible with original xbox so if you want to change the drive in your xbox you would need to get the key from your old drive and put it into the new one or simply soldier the motherboard from one drive to the other

Drives that can be flashed are:
1. Hitachi
2. Samsung
3. Benq
4. Lite-on (first ever flash)
