Can any one help me out or troubleshoot me my xbox 360 has the 3 rrod and the fan only turns on for one second.

Best way is to use a heat gun to reflow the motherboard and a new set of Arctic silver to replace the thermal paste. You are not going to solve this by pressing a few buttons.
