As far as the piece goes, I think the hexagon overlay effect would be a lot more effective if it wasn't over the whole image and only over a couple of parts, like the outer "wings" or inner circle.

On the outer parts that I can best describe as like flower-petals (even though they really don't look like petals at all) I think making the inner, darker part a bit bigger would help and maybe changing the shape on them to flow better with the rest of the piece would work well.

And in almost complete opposite I think the darker part in the inner circle should be smaller.

Overall it's pretty decent, very similar of a car manufacturer/car parts logo though. Of course everything I said here is my opinion and I'm certainly no professional so you can take from it what you will.
