The modding that people do for the 360 isn't boring, as long as you keep within reason. For example, if you look through a wiki for the game and see some armour/weapons you really like but they are late in the game, you can use the modding to get them from the start rather then waiting for half the game to look how you wish. Though I do recommend playing legit first, then trying the different modding. It can be very helpful for roleplaying in the game, for example if you create a Nord Paladin who helps all the innocent people and is a pure good guy, then you can start off with him kitted out for exactly that.
