Casbah wrote Wow.... But didn't they except to be paid minimum wage when they started? Im 18 and I dropped out of school but I am working at Macy's full time as a Support Lead. Also I am about to get a government job soon since I have a reference who can instantly get me the job. $7.25 maybe is a tad too low. I started out at $7.75 and that is enough to get by. Hopefully these people will understand they are NOT working for a 5* restaurant....
it was enough for you to get by because your still a kid wait until you are 30+ and have other people to support mouths to feed and kids that need clothes

I work in the food game, I get paid minimum wage which is 7.25. But I also get paid every thursday. Now the work that people do in the food industry is very hard and tiring work. There are some night I'm not off work until midnight. Now even though they're striking for 15 an hour I doubt this will happen. There might be a little raise but not much. I just don't see us getting paid 15 an hour. I would be making almost 800 a week then.

But I doubt it will happen.

If they want it go up, and it won't and they leave, like who cares? it's not like they can't find younger teens to work there, or WILL work for min wage because it's money!

If they got $15 an hour, could you imagine how much more expensive McDonald's food would have to be. The workers need to look at this more logically, because I promise no one is going to pay $20 for a hamburger so that McDonalds can pay it's employees $15 an hour.

Like I said, I doubt it will go up to 15 dollars but you have to look at it on the side of the worker instead of the customer. And your right, if their pay rate increases, so will the food they serve. But there is a lot more work than just serving food. When were ever they work closes down, they have to clean the WHOLE place. Me and another guy that I work have to clean the whole restaurant just about. That's the stressful thing about working in the food industry. Only because we have to deal idiotic customers for hours on end then have to clean for a couple of hours. Trust me, it's not worth 7.25 to work in the food industry. Maybe 10 bucks. That sounds logical.
