So i mean everybody has a different taste in music from genre purists to musical butterflies, but everyone has their taste. My question is why do you (or do you think you) like the music you do?

Why i like the music i do
Personally my tastes in music are dominantly EDM but i respect and love all music. I used to be a metalhead before i got into dubstep back in 06' and since then EDM has been my main scene, but growing up i listened to everything from 90's/00's pop to alternative to old trance to classical to foreign to rap, i guess i like the music i like because im just like a super open person but i am a basshead to heart so i will always love my bass music.

Well, I like Rock and Dubstep. I guess I'd say I like Dubstep purely for its orgasmic feeling in my ears when the bass drops and it sounds pretty sexy. And I like rock a lot for the lyrics, what the song means to me and how it relates to me. PS rock music sounds sexy.

I adore progressive house at the moment. But 2 years ago I would have said the same about Dubstep.

My taste in music changes very quickly, as I listen to a lot of it.

Favourite genres currently -

Progressive House
Electro House
Garage
Future Garage

I like the way the music comes together I suppose. I can't really say anything more than that.

The sort of music I listen to is bands like
The Courteeners
Artic Monkeys
Oasis
(Little bit of modern chart music)
I mostly listen to indie music because chills me out but also can get me pumped up.
Also I dress quite smart (not to sound big headed) but I do and I think that shows I listen to that sort of music. (Well people have told me that).

Melodic death metal, EDM, DnB, IDM, trance, post-rock, electronica, prog metal, thrash metal, and breakbeat for no other reason than the fact that I think they sound cool. I don't care for lyrics much.

First of all, i love 70s/80s music, mainly because it really took some skill to be a great band back then. There wasn't any auto tune and you couldn't hide poor lyrics behind electronically produced sounds, or at least like the ones they use today. Also, ever since i was little my dad would play that type of music in his car, so i developed a sort of taste for it. My favorite bands are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, and the Rolling Stones. Honestly, when you listen to bands like this you cant find a bad song.

I like your taste.

I'm mostly Indie. Anything Indie, with lyrics that I can relate to.

Alternative rock I like as well since all my uncles used to be in a band back in the 90's that were a big local band.

Anything from hip hop, to pop, I don't mind anything, I mean I don't listen to country or classical, but I will listen to whatevers on, but if im picking its normally dnb, hip hop, or pop.

I listen mainly to rap and some trap, I live in Tampa and go to tech and I am just surrounded almost all the time with rap, and It just grew on me. But I just used to listen to rock before I got older.
