What do I need in order to do recoveries on black ops 1 and above and I know we need an online service first but still.

I am almost positive that in order to host for Black ops 1 you need your Jtag online. And nobody is currently online yet because of the new Dash Update. Now COD4 and COD WaW and recoveries for MW2 you dont need to be online for. But im pretty sure others you have to be online.
