I think that's just a coincidence. I don't think they would let anyone know if it truly was set up.

This is like saying Olympus has Fallen is a foreshadow of what's to come.

Why would they risk exposing themselves, and how do you suppose the conversations went with the animators on these shows?
Did they just ring them up and subtly ask them implement foreshadowing of a future disaster, hoping they would stay quiet about it?
