Please help because my iPhone 3GS only charges when it is switched off and itunes doesnt find the device and when i plug it into my laptop but laptop doesnt read that any USB has been connected, please please please help?

May be a faulty charger? if not then a faulty iphone!

If you can, try putting it into restoration mode then plugging it into iTunes and restoring it (however you will LOSE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE)
If this doesn't work and it gives an unknown error that means you'll need a new phone as the same thing happened to a family member of mine

If that doesn't work (like you can't turn it on) plug it up to ounces and put it into restore mode manually :3
