I am currently looking at
XFX DD Black Edition Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB 5700MHz GDDR5 Graphics Card(Cost 290.00)
but am wondering if there is a better card on the market for under 300?
Any help is much appreciated.

What are you other system specs including your power supply. Also what are you using the system for?

Why does he need a 7850 when he has a 7970...?
OP, i'd wait till the 8000 series cards. Or add another 7970 for Xfire. There's kinda no point getting a whole new card unless it's a 7990.

Upgrading your RAM to 16GB is unnecessary unless you do a lot of editing/rendering.
