I have been doing glitches on games since Call of Duty: World at War and have never been banned once. I used to do all of the under / out of the map glitches in multiplayer games and I've never been banned for it - I just received a few abusive messages from other players haha.

Hacking / modding is a different ball game altogether and there is obviously a very high chance you'll be banned if you hack / modify the game. I have only ever had one suspension on Xbox Live and that was due to modding my gamerscore so I had 1000G on every game.

But I don't really see the problem with glitching. You aren't modifying the game so they can't ban you for tampering or cheating. I suppose it qualifies as unsporting behaviour but they don't issue suspensions for that.

So just to conclude, obviously it's not 100% guaranteed that you won't get a ban, but I'd say you're 98% safe.

Sources: I've been glitching for 5 years.

EDIT: More than likely the most that will happen to you as a result of glitching is that you will be set to Bad Sport.

I just read somewhere that you go back to being a Good Sport after two days - I don't know about you but I'd take 2 days of being a Bad Sport in return for millions of in-game cash.

IF Rockstar did decide to take it further, the most that would probably happen is they will reset your rank and cash.

If you do happen to be suspended from Xbox Live, you are just extremely unlucky.

To avoid any punishment, don't go overboard with the glitch. I advise you stay under the 10 million mark - thousands of people have been doing the glitch, it's the people with silly amounts of money who will catch Rockstar's eye. They will be the ones who receive bans etc.

Glitch responsibly to avoid bans and resets.

They can ban you as you are exploiting a glitch you agreed you wouldn't do in TOS

Also the fact you didn't get banned on cod is completely different as they are different companies and different views on glitchers/cheaters

Not necessarily true.

You could of just been extremely lucky.

It is a bannable/suspend-able offense.

However, you can get punishments.
Such as being ranked as a "Bad Sport" (proven by a few others who abused a few cash exploits in GTA V)
