Hey guys hows it going and over the last few months I have literally grown a hatred for FPS games.
I should clarify that when I say FPS games I'm referring to Call of Duty , Battlefield etc. and not games such as Bio shock.
I have not always been this way, literally over the course of the last year the only two games I have owned were BF3 and BO2.
Then I realized how pointless and non fun these games were.
All they are are a place to senselessly shoot people online and I began to find that extremely boring even when playing with friends the lack of a cool narrative or any reasoning behind the games began to bore me extremely.
I began to play games such as Bio shock, The Last of Us , and all these amazing games I had been missing out on and I will never turn back.
The communities for these games online (forums, and even the actual multiplayer In the case of some of these games is also more mature and respectably more fun to play with.
I like the multiplayer for The Last of Us because it is innovative and provides a world that is relatively based on the single player which brings depth and reasoning behind what these survivors your playing as do in game.
Also to use Assassin's Creed for an example the multiplayer in that almost has its on story to go along with it and can be very cooperative and enjoyable to play with out being yelled at by little kids.
The bottom line is that I believe that the Competitive FPS genre is very overrated and considering this is how the media portrays most games, sheds bad light on the gaming industry as a whole.
