Hey I have never been around the PC gaming area and I want to dwell in to the realm of PC gaming. I really need some advice on what would be a good PC to start out with though. I've decided I want to have a setup with my computer tower hooked up to a 46-inch Plasma Screen television as the monitor so if anyone has some suggestions about that as well feel free to say whatever.

Build your own PC with whatever budget you choose. You'll save hundreds of dollars, get better performance, and learn about your hardware. We'll help you pick the best parts.
You can use a monitor of whatever size you want and there's nothing wrong with using a TV. However, you should make sure your TV has a "gaming" mode or a way to turn off post-processing. If not, input lag will be very annoying.

We'll help you pick the best parts. My TV came equipped w/ like 10 different modes. I paid roughly $800 for it, but could you help me by letting me know what all parts I would need to build a successful PC? I can go to Fry's Electronics close to where I live and build one from scratch if I let them know what all parts I would like.
