It's good that you stopped. You probably wouldn't have been able to save his life anyway. It said in the article he died later in hospital, so it's not like you could have done much for him when it happened. You did the best you could by calling emergency services.

Witnessing accidents are such a shock, and it will probably be on your mind for awhile.
