I want to be able to get it (xbox 360 slim) replaced from Best Buy because I have a warranty that expires soon. I want a new (refurbished) console. What can I do to the Xbox without voiding the warranty so its eligible for a swap, is there a way I can mess up the CD reader so it won't read games? This warranty was like ninety bucks and I don't want to put it to waste. I don't want to over heat it to get rrod because of the fire hazard, and I know I can't open it up without removing the sticker.

Has anyone done this or anything similar? Any suggestions on things i can do to the console.... (things that wont void the warranty btw)

Thank You!

P.S. I know water damaging voids the warranty. My xbox is banned to and I don't think that is a major factor because they will see whats wrong with it first I suppose...

best bet is to:

A. if its a phat just let it run until it gets 3rrod and there is no fire hazard of letting it do so

B. if its a slim try screwing around with the disc tray and see if you can mess it up

C. Be happy with what you have and just deal with it

I prefer a or b but its your call

I don't know if this would work but you could try putting a cd in and put money like change on top of it then let it go back in and if it breaks some how then when you return it say your sister(any family member preferably young) was messing around with it while you were out or try to spill water in it some how(on the fan part and say you were changing the game and a glass of water fell over and spilt on top of it

Sorry best excuses I have

basically I took ^ advice
the disc tray wont open or close without manual force (which is a long process getting it open)
something in it broke and I'll see what happens when I go to exchange it later this week.

I've done something similar with Microcenter in the past. Just say that whenever you put a game in the tray it only gives you the option to open the tray again, (open tray error). Microcenter never checked that, worked every time I tried it.
