Do i need more than 1 GB of VRAM to run games on a single monitor at 1080P?


Main games(Graphics intensive anyway)
BF4
Bf3

It will depend on what card you have and the settings you plan on running them at

No,i have a old azz nVidia 315 500mb vram and i run 2 montiors fine haha.

i was thinking on a 7850 or 7780 and all i want is 1080 medium

You will be able to run them @ 1080p on those settings but you might the occasional dip in frame rate if the memory fills up. I can play BF3 on almost ultra settings with 1GB @ 1080p 40FPS average but i get the odd dip to 20fps for a second or so.

With those cards, 1 GB is enough for 1080p, but I'd get the 2 GB variant of the 7850 because it shouldn't be much more expensive. Faster cards that are capable of running games at higher settings can make use of more VRAM.
