In my opinion, they have copied it SO much. The M-Tar is a sub in real life, but CoD had it as an AR and Battlefield had it as a sub. Copied?

No....... The didn't copy. Both games use popular and modern guns.

So because they changed a gun's class from AR to SMG, they copied battlefield?

Even if they did y does it matter instead of just trying to go away from eachother they should build off each other to be better IMO I like both

Do EA own the rights to only have that gun in there game? No. Do EA own the rights to have a destructive environment in only there game? Again, no. Sure they may have got the idea from Battlefield, but they didn't take anything that wasn't their own, otherwise they would get sued.
