I really doubt this was down to laziness considering how much time went into everything else. They probably just did it as a kind of easter egg or maybe to see how observant their players are. Or even maybe some activision employees were having a joke or something. Either way, I'm sure a few people lost their jobs because of this.

Since when did Shepard come back and take Soap away on MW2? Definatley no copy and paste there, I think it was a great ending, Cant wait for it to continue.
