Theres no real threat, the amount of speed that thing picks up going through our atmosphere, the hole thing will be little chunks and particles..

If anything, you might have a piece of metal the size of a football lodged 6 feet in your backyard, but nothing serious.

Things slow down as they go through the atmosphere, not speed up. Would have thought it will hit the ground anywhere up to a few hundred m/s
