For these games to try and keep progressing with their new features can really make or break it. As somebody said, it's getting complex and cluttered with all these classes, soldiers,kill-streaks, etc can be very confusing to new gamers but also for the experienced ones too. Something simple like CoD: Modern Warfare with it's simplicity was nice and fun but if it were to be like that for many years on then of course people will complain that it is the same game every year. But a series can only do so much to make it still feel like the same game but it can't add too much that will ruin it and make it seem too different.
Basically, if there are no "new" features or ideas then might as well just play the original the rest of the way.

I think that our current generation of games were amazing and I can't wait to see the type of innovation that will be made with the next-gen technology. Everything will be a lot better with the new things that are possible for developers.

So in a way, yeah I think that it sucks that games like H3, CoD 4 (even though I didn't like it that much), BC2, etc. are out of picture but I am excited to see new creations from video game companies.

xLasers wrote Well, the next gen consoles are finally here as we are all aware of, and honestly I'm pretty sad. I'm getting older, and don't have much time to devote to gaming any more, but I still must say I had some good times with my Xbox 360. But it makes me sad that they have marketed too much to the "bro gamers" and not such much hardcore gamers like ourselves (presumably). What I mean, is there will never be another COD 4, another battlefield BC2, etc.

I played GTA V for awhile, beat the single player, the game was beautiful and a blast at first. But lost its luster after beating the relatively short single player, and I don't really care for the online even though it's almost like they centered the game towards it. I didn't buy Ghosts, and seeing gameplay makes me glad I didn't, the only gameplay I saw looked like the awful MW2 map Salvage, and typical Infinity ward just spewing out premade models all over the map for cover and choke points.

Sadly, there won't ever be another COD 4 or MW2 (love it or hate it, it got a lot of people into COD). No more skill based gameplay for FPS games, or COD at least, because the game designers are too busy marketing more complex next year COD to cater to the fat bald 30 year old with 4 kids who gets on the forums and complains about quickscoping. Hopefully, the next COD doesn't exist, because Ghosts caused EA to ruin the launch of BF4 and put it out early to compete with Call of Duty, leading to a buggy or unplayable game that could have otherwise been awesome.

These new consoles reflect the new "mainstream" gaming trend that wasn't around when the PS3 and 360 came out, and honestly I don't think the new games coming out will be the same as the earlier games on the 360/ PS3 from 4-6 years ago. Maybe it's just me getting old and cynical, yet I don't feel excited for the One at all especially after all the controversy over the features after the reveal. Maybe I'll get it to play Forza 5, but after playing Horizon I'm not even excited for another Forza and hope they didn't ruin this one.

yeah going on with what you were saying it really makes you sit down and think dang 8 years has passed and what have i done? Same as you said im getting older this gen (the one and ps4) will probably be my last gen of gaming :/ thinking on when the 360/ps3 came out i still lived with my mom and dident even have a license yet.....on another note the one and ps4 are not even close to the leap as ps2 to ps4 is i feel like we are just throwing away 500 bucks just to get the same games to run a little smoother with more stuff on screen at once....meet alot of cool people on 360 so im forced into getting the one over the ps4 otherwise i would be getting ps4 obviously better memory/1080 at a cheaper price. also very true what you said about cod no offense to anyone on here but your mostly paired up with immture screaming kids or someone who calls you a n*gger. And idiots on your team in search and rescue that dont pick up the tags, let you die...etc ghosts will defiantly be my last cod. black ops 1 was ok but the last great one was mw2/cod4. I will be on dead rising, destiny and watch dogs when it finally comes out. Hell iw wont even reset the leadrboards even though everyone has hacked there way to the top before the game was even released lol. after this gen i will be going back to collage hopefully i can finish up and show iw how to make a game haha. I rember when 360 came out and halo 3 i had a 19 in flat screen and played the campaign for hours i dident even know what xbox live did lmao
