I just got my PS4 at mid night release and I come home to get a load of shit! I started playing campaign on ghost and after a hour of game play i noticed it got really hot so i just kept going with my business for another 15 minutes or so and I then notice I'm guessing it would be smoke coming out the the back of the console and the HDMI port melting! I immediately turned the console off for 10 minutes and after attempting to boot again all i get is a blue screen and while its on this blue screen it immediately starts to over heat! I also noticed the disc drive makes a very weird noise almost like a jack hammer when I'm in a graphic demanding scene or landscape anyways I payed 400$ for this and drove 3 hours to midnight release for this I'm rather disappointed in Sony but I'm hoping I can get a replacement of some sort I've always been a true song guy I'm very disappointed but I don't think its worth it switching to Xbox for the extra 100$? I am not very happy at this point! whats your guys thoughts?

Personally im quite scared, hope the xbox doesn't mess up.

If I wouldn't of been paying attention the console would of most likely caught on fire now that would of been a real good story to tell to the store I picked it up at! Yes and all that can tell is time! what console are you getting?

Well its their fault for making it so compact with no where to let the heat out and they put the power supply in there too, I wont say Xbox won't have problems but Microsoft made a smart move making it bigger with external power supply.

I'm not a Xbox fanboy nor playstation, Im actually a pc gamer mostly.

ive searched around an it looks like ttg are the only people experiencing this problem? ive never heard of any console "smoking" before unless it was kept in box with no air.

weirdly enough I actually agree with the guy above...

The instances of it smoking I've only really found on TTG, I've heard of some little problems with not starting up - But sony themselves have already arranged to try fix these problems for those involved..

Post some proof of it happening? And believe me, if I just bought a console worth that much at midnight release..the last thing I'd be doing is posting about it on a site like this - I'd be doing all I can to get in touch with sony and the retailer to sort the issue

I know there's alot of Xbox Fanboys on here, so you're always going to get posts like this - Which may be fake lies - but I'm sorry if it's actually true.

The reason for why it gets hot is due to it being so cluestered inside that box, I mean, It may look nice, but they could of done with some airflow !

The powerbrick inside the console defiantly doesn't help
