The latest detailed forecasts for winter 2013 ALL point towards months of relentless extreme cold with heavy snow 'extremely likely' across the country.
Arctic air will roar in from the North Pole later this week, triggering the start of the worst winter in many people's lifetimes.
Experts in long-range weather forecasting said the WHOLE of Britain should be prepared for this winter to be the most severe since 1947, which saw the UK hit by relentless snow and some of the lowest temperatures on record.

What do you guys think?
I personally think it will just be one day of heavy snow, then back to rain.

The thing is just for a week forecast involves Billions of calculations I'm pretty sure they can't do a month forecast.

I know there is going to be the first main cold spell this weak with below average temperatures and some snow showers in the north, and forecasters said that the cold spell will last into the week after but with less snow.
In my opinion considering the UK has experienced cold and snowy winters since 2009 every year, I think this year will bring more of the same, and personally I think it will be a pretty bad winter, but as bad as 1947? I don't know.

forget that snow just delays everything makes driving harder and getting to work harder and it's just annoying really, not so bad for people in school... on the plus, if we're lucky, all these places will get closed.

If you can remember the one day in 2010, it was insane, schools shut instant, roads closed, gritters ran out, all because of 1 days snow, its suppose to be the same, but for a week.
I honestly cannot see this happening..
Maybe up north it will be bad, but where i am ( Derbyshire, centre of england. )
But i love snow, so bring it on ;)
