How would I get my cable to connect to my Xbox One so I don't have to switch channels.

Should be a short guide with the xbox one. Probably won't be much more than a HDMI cable connection.

I have Dish satellite and I called them already and asked about it. They said that I would have to have them come and update my satellite box with a newer one that supports HDMI. But then again, the box I have is really old. Then you put the HDMI from the satellite box into the HDMI slot in, and the Xbox One is supposed to do the rest.

Firstly You have to have a satellite box which supports HDMI Out, secondly you need to plug an HDMI from that port into the XB1 HDMI In then go to TV on the console and configure it.
