Hello,

I'm wanting to recover some old media files from a old external hard drive of mine, but every time I connect my hard drive it's asking me to format it, I know that there is software out there to possibly obtain these files.

I'm wanting someone to point me in the right direction as I can't get these files back any other way (old photos, etc)

Sorry, but your External Hard Drive may be corrupt, Make sure that your External Hard Drive is using the correct drive letter and make sure that the driver software is updated to the latest version. If that does not work, you can scan the drive for bad sectors on the disk

You could try going to the company that make it website and make sure all the drivers are up to date.
