after reading on that big post about ios 7 jailbreak and updates on it for the past month i have been wondering exactly why there isn't a jailbreak yet. at first around 10/20 i read there and other places that the jailbreak should have been out on the ipad air announcement day, then i heard that Evaders was waiting until they were actually released to test the jailbreak on the new ipads. well now the ipads have been released, are they still doing tests?? the other page really hasn't given any news about why there isn't a jailbreak yet, i know there is a jailbreak for iphone 4 that is tethered now but i'm wondering about an untethered. let me know if you know why there is no jailbreak yet thanks, and thanks to evaders for making these jailbreaks (if there even is one).

The only way that a Jailbreak that is made possible is through an exploit/loophole within the code of the iOS system. Apple usually finds these loopholes after the release of a jailbreak and ceases for the jailbreak to be functional.

One problem is the new activation lock feature. In the recent past its always been an exploit in the activation part of the iOS code that has allowed jailbreaks. Now with this new feature I think its sort of a curve ball the "hackers" weren't expecting and are working to get through it.

Im fairly certain I read the article you're talking about and either pod2g or planetbeing said they had all the peiced for the jailbreak they just needed to assemble them and test it out on the new devices(iPad air and iPad mini retina). Maybe they ran into some issues with the code they had and the newer hardware.

No body really knows though other than the iphone dev team, so we really just have to wait for more information from them.

Its incredibly hard to find such exploits which allow the jailbreaking of an iphone. it takes time.

i know they had to find a new exploit as the ones from before didn't work (with the exception of the limerain for iphone 4 which is only a tethered). But i thought they had already found a new exploit, got the untethered jailbreak to work, and was just waiting to test it on the new ipads before releasing it to the public. which this is true according to thetechgame.com/Forums/t=5736588/...-2-13.html
