So I picked up a new 7870 today and I when i first booted it and stuff (about 20 times) i didnt know that i had the pci-e connecter in only half way. Also, once i got it to work I went into the program that cam with it called msi afterburner and shot up the clock speeds to max and then got a blue screen and now it doesnt detect the hdmi i have plugged in did i ruin the card by turning up the clock speed? I thought that the program limited you to the max safe clock speed of the card so i didnt know it was gonna hurt the thing if it did. So did I ruin it?

have you tried all the basic trouble shooting things? Like restarting your PC pluging it back in and all that jazz?

It may well be damaged because increasing the clock speeds will increase the temperature of the card and if that increases too much it will damage it. You shouldn't try and over clock if you're not sure what you're doing. If you try a different connector does it work fine?

Sounds like you burnt out the card. So you have it warrentied, because if you do you should send it in and say it was DOA.

You're more than likely fine. See if you can boot up again. If Afterburner tries to run the card at settings that don't work (like maxed clock with stock voltage), boot into safe mode and fix it.

Learn how computers work before you say he "burnt it out."
