Before I went into to college I never really thought much of school but now I think about it, school wasn't just a learning experience for education purposes it opens you up socially and in other variations.
Just my opinion though

I'm indecisive on the controversies that involve the problematic issues regarding school. I for one think that school is a place that shoves your creativity into a box and makes you a mindless drone as all your ambitious goals that you had as a kid were killed by school. You are told what to do, what is right, permission to ask for various things, and etc. The mind-numbing pain of being shredded with 3 hours of homework is also a major bummer, but it does teach you some self-responsibility. You are a perfect candidate of becoming a cog wheel inside the whole Capitalistic machine. School is also one of the essential steps of Capitalism or Consumerism, become a good student that is capable of going to college, go to college, get a job, buy crap you don't need, become stressed, and sleep. Rinse and repeat. I won't go too in-depth, but this practically is everything in regards to school in one short body of text.

School is okay for the most part, but I think there are definitely a few changes that need to be made. The education system has begun to stress evaluations and scores so much that getting good grades and good scores on tests begins to overcome the desire to actually learn the material in my opinion. Sure, preparing for and taking tests helps teach self-discipline and responsibility, but I think there should be a better way to do it that allows for more creativity and stresses the learning process more (valuing the journey, not just looking at the destination). I think schedules and homework loads also need to change. Something is wrong when a ~7 hr day for a high schooler isn't enough and more work needs to be sent home. Schoolwork should be for school time, leading to more free time at home to pursue other interests in life (leading to more well-rounded development, and so on). I do enjoy things like the social aspect of school and I believe that is very important, but the academic side of things does need a second look in my opinion.

Well some of the smartest people didn't go to collage or even finish school example Steve jobs
Please that's a rare chance. That won't happen to everyone. You need to get an education to do something in life making decent money. If you don't have money then it's going to be hard for you.

It's still essential to be educated and at least get a high school diploma. You won't get anywhere with a GED in most circumstances. The way on how teaching is practiced is what needs a serious reform.
