so i was just wondering if i can copy a games files to stop me having to download it...
my step brother all ready has borderlands 2 and i have just bought it, so im wondering if i can copy the files of the game from his computer to mine to stop me having to download it...
will this work?

With Steam, yes i think you can. But with Origin It's going to be tricky. Origin is pig to understand and make it work properly. So I'd just download it if it's on Origin.
If it's with Steam, place it in the "SteamApps" folder and point to it's location with in Steam.

If it's a steam game then yes you can just copy it over and steam will download what is missing from the files and as Craig- said make sure to put it in the SteamApps folder.
