I have a brand new 4g ipod and i am curious about jailbreaking. I mainly just want free apps and maby some other things, by thats my main reasoning. I was wondering if it would be worth doing it if that is my intention, and if i do, would it slow down the device? ive heard it greatly slows down the 4g ipods.

i would jailbreak it if i were you. You will probably have to use Greenp0ison. And if it does ever mess up you can always restore it.

the only way that it will slow down your device is if you decide to have a background that is a video, or if you download a bad package. And really if anything bad happens to it you can just easily put it in DFU mode and restore it to factory settings

yeah thats very true, do not use Vwallpaper. that made my ipod soooo slow. i had to restore it but it works fine now. i really like the android lock screen. its pretty cool because you have to know the pattern in order to use the device.

On the newer models, it doesn't slow down as much. But, as Trees said a bad package, etc.
Jailbreaking is good for free apps that accually cost, and newer content like GrooveShark (Unreleased).
