Hello TTG Today I Will Be Giving Some Tutorials On How To Use Adobe Photoshop.
So Let's Get Started.

How to Use Adobe Photoshop Tools

Check out the Photoshop toolbox. Almost every single thing you do in Photoshop will involve using tools from the toolbox. Some of the most commonly used tools are as follows:

  • Marquee tool - Part of the selection tool and allows the user to selections.

  • Move tool - Used to move layers and selected objects within the canvas.

  • Brush tool - Paints brush strokes.

  • History brush - Can take you back to the original state of the selection. You can have a lot of fun with this tool. Once you learn to use it properly you will be amazed by the professional photo effects you can produce.

  • Eraser tool - Erases solid colored areas.

  • Dodge tool - Lightens areas of your picture selectively.

  • Burn tool - Makes areas on your image darker. Burning and dodging are techniques that were original practiced by photographers in traditional darkrooms for the purpose of lightening or darkening images.

  • Type tool - Puts text on your image.

  • Wand Tool- a.k.a. Wanda. When you click on a coloured area, you can select, then erase, colour, or modify the area.

  • Type Mask tool - Allows you to create a selection in the form of text or type.

Use these tools to create most any design, composite or drawing you want to paint. Learning how to utilize them easily, will make any drawing better and simpler for anyone to design.

How to Replace Text in Adobe Photoshop

Step 1:Find the right picture. This picture should be something with some kind of writing in it. The writing should appear rather flat on the picture or else it will be more difficult to replace the text and make it look real.

Step 2:Create a blank canvas where you would like to replace your text. This can be done in many different ways, but here are two of them:
The first and easiest way is to simply paint over the writing with the same color as the background. This can be done by using the Eyedropper Tool? to gain the desired color. The eyedropper tool sets the paint color to whatever color it has been placed over. Once the color is selected carefully use the Paintbrush Tool? to paint over the writing. Make sure to leave a small amount of text showing so that it can be used to gain the desired color of the text.
The second way is a little more complex because it involves something called cloning. This would be taking a small section of the desired background and cloning it to cover the text. The cloning is ideal when the sign or background you are attempting to edit is textured in some way.

Step 3:Create the Text. Creating the text is very easy. You can use the Eyedropper tool once again to gain the desired color of the text. Once the color has been acquired, it is time to create the text. To create the text you should use the Type Tool?. Just click anywhere on the picture and a text entry box will appear. Type the desired text into the field and also adjust the size, font, and style of the writing. Once this is completed, simply hit OK. This will create a new Layer in Photoshop. If the size of the text is not what you had imagined you can go to Edit >> Transform >> Scale? and this will allow you to adjust the size of the type and the position of the type on the general picture.

Step 4:Additional editing Possibly you find that the text needs to be adjusted because the board, banner, etc. you wrote on is distorted due to perspective issues. You can correct for this by right clicking on the layer name in the layers panel, and choosing rasterize type. (This will make a bitmap of your text, so editing of the text is no longer possible) After that you choose "Edit>>Transform>>Distort". By dragging the anchor points around your text you can adjust for the perspective.

Step 5:Complete With the above tutorial you should be able to do some text replacing and text creating on a picture to make it say whatever you want! Happy editing!

How to Crop and Re Size Photos at the Same Time Using Adobe Photoshop 7

Step 1:Switch to the Zoom Tool by pressing "Z" on your keyboard.

Step 2:Right click on your image and select the "Fit On Screen" option.

Step 3:Press "C" on your keyboard to switch to the Crop Tool.

Step 4:Enter in the desired dimensions of your final result on the top toolbar. For example, you may enter in a width of 240px and a height of 180px.

Step 5:On your image, draw a box around the object you would like to keep in the photo. You will not be able to adjust the height and width separately, as these automatically adjust based on the dimensions you entered above in the previous step.

Step 6:Press "Enter" on your keyboard to have Photoshop automatically crop and resize your photo.

How to Add Color to a Scanned Picture Using Photoshop

Step 1:Put your drawing on the scanner. If your drawing needs to be inked you may do so by drawing over your pencil lines with a pen. Better tools won't magically make your picture 10x better, but they do help any experienced artist.

Step 2:Scan your picture. There should be a window with options such as DPI settings and a Brightness/Contrast setting. If you are unsure of your computer's Virtual Memory then set the DPI to 150 or lower. Photoshop is usually better for cleaning up, so finish scanning your picture and open it in Photoshop.

Step 3:Size your picture to your liking. Many scanners size the picture based on the DPI levels; if the picture looks too big for you, you can size it down by going to Image > image size and entering the dimensions you prefer ex: 800 x 800 pixels.

Step 4:Go to Image > Adjust > Brightness Contrast and mess around with the sliders until the whites are whitest and the lines are black, make sure your lines are still soft though, if you are not satisfied with the results you may go to Image > Adjust > levels.

Step 5:Erase any unwanted specs or dirt that were picked up by the scanner.

Step 6:Clean the lines.
Press CTRL and 'A' at the same time, then CTRL and X (same time), SHIFT and CTRL and then 'N'.
Name the layer lines or lineart or even Molly; you just need to name it so you don't mix up the layers.
Use the paint bucket tool and fill the whole layer with black (don't worry we're just 'unsticking' your lines). Make sure you are still on the 'Lines/Molly' layer and press the 'Quick mask' button.
Press CTRL and V. Your lines should appear in red against a black canvas, now press the other quick mask button (to switch the other one off), your lines should look like they have little ants crawling around them. Use the eraser to remove the black then press CTRL and D. Your nice black lines should be on the Line/Molly layer with no white stuff.

Step 7:Use the Airbrush to color and shade since it's a very soft brush, make a new layer under your lines and color in what ever skin tone you'll be using. Color each part of the picture on a different layer, then shade them with the airbrush. If you want to shade all of them at once, make a layer above all the colored layers, but under the line art, and set it to 'multiply' and use a color like peach or blue (depending on what sort of color scheme you're going for) and shade everything, you'll notice the color you shaded with changes a bit when you color over each different part.

Step 8:Mess with the transparency bar until you get your desired results; be sure to use airbrush.

Step 9:On a new layer, add the highlights and pink to his/her cheeks if you want, lower the transparency and add some more highlights (white dots etc.) on a new layer.

Step 10:Go to the line art layer and select the little box that says 'preserve transparency' and color the lines a bit darker than the parts of the picture, ex: if the hair is blond color the hair lines light brown. Do this with all the line art, if you mess up it's okay you can color it again.

Step 11:Clean up your drawing, sign it and you're done!

How to Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Photoshop

Look at the menu bar of Photoshop and click on any menu item.

The choices with a preset shortcut appear in the list on the right side, opposite the associated command.

Memorize the desired shortcuts. Use them often, until they become second nature.

For repetitive tasks, create your own shortcut by assigning function keys to actions. This involves recording the task you desire and telling the actions naming panel the function keys you desire to assign to it. If the function key choice combination is greyed out, it is not available and is being used by another function.

Use as many shortcuts as you can remember, and create your own.

Ezema's Useful Tips to Use.

  • Notice all shortcuts when using pull-down menus.

  • Make your own if they are not already preset.

  • Practice, practice, practice.

  • There are a lot of "hidden" shortcuts listed on the shortcut "cheat sheet" that comes with Photoshop.

  • Notice the shortcuts next to items on the filter list that let you re-apply a filter to another selection. This will even allow recall of the same filter and its dialog box, all without mousing!

  • Another shortcut involves the creation of styles and saving them to the styles palette.

  • Anything that you can create using layer styles is saveable as a button choice.

Still More To Come.
